APIBAN now helps protect against unwanted HTTP/HTTPS traffic in addition to SIP traffic.
Launched in 2020, APIBAN has helped thousands of systems and networks from receiving unwanted SIP traffic. Through a globally deployed network of honeypots, APIBAN collects and curates IP addresses of active SIP attacks. The collected addresses are then distributed to clients via a REST API or our open source client.
Now, in addition to SIP attacks, APIBAN will help reduce unwanted HTTP (and HTTPS) attacks as well.
Our honeypots now collect HTTP/HTTPS traffic into a new (aptly named) http set. When querying our API, you can specify sip, http, or all (with all for both http and sip data sets).
Information on retreiving this data is available on our documentation page.
Our hope is that this new honeypot data helps protect GUI based pbx systems (FreePBX, Fusion, etc.), provisioning servers, and other systems that would benefit from such data.
APIBAN is able to provide this information for FREE thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and GitHub sponsors.
APIBAN is a free service thanks to our sponsors. We would also like to give thanks to Ivan Nyarko and our github sponsors.
